How much Annie Sloan Chalk Paint do I need?

How much Annie Sloan Chalk Paint do I need?

One of the questions I am asked almost every week is, “Donna, how much chalk paint do I need?”

The answer is usually, “Probably less than you think!”

One of the reasons I love Annie Sloan Chalk Paint is its incredible coverage. Whether you are painting a bedside table, an old chest of drawers or giving your dining table a completely new look, a little paint really does go a long way.

If you are just wanting to experiment or tackle a small project, the 120ml Sample Pots are fantastic. They’re perfect for picture frames, plant pots, small stools or testing a colour before committing to a larger tin.

For larger furniture pieces, the 1-litre tins are surprisingly generous. Depending on the size of your project and the surface you’re painting, one tin will often complete several smaller pieces or a substantial item of furniture.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is buying paint without thinking about the finish they want. Are you looking for that beautiful soft matt finish? Do you want to add Clear Wax for protection? Or perhaps you’re after a darker aged look using Dark Wax? That’s where choosing the right products together makes all the difference.

The best part of owning an Annie Sloan Flagship Store is helping people choose with confidence. Every week customers bring photos of furniture into the shop, and together we work out the right colour, the right quantity of paint and the right finishing products before they spend a cent.

If you are ever unsure how much paint you’ll need, don’t guess.

Take a photo of your furniture, pop into Bent on Life in Wingham or send us a message. Better still, join one of our workshops.  We would much rather help you choose the right products from the beginning than have you run out halfway through your project.

Happy painting!
